To make sure everything is full up by the end of Fall you'll want to do as Ereo suggested, occasionally thinning it out with the scythe (and I use the golden scythe as you get more hay from it), then letting all the holes you punched in it have a chance to grow back before doing it again. If you want to build a Silo, head out to Robins. You might notice that you can purchase Hay from Marnie, but you can actually harvest your own Once you have a Silo, the grass that you can cut can be automatically converted into Hay. The animals rarely get past the statues, too. This is where Hay comes in Hay is food that you can feed your animals during the winter season. If you go to the showcase and take a look at my Amethyst's Purple farm you can see how much open space I have in the most recent screenies, and just know that all of that open space has grass growing in it when it isn't Winter. With that much feed, my eight birds and two cows will never go hungry. You might have to build a couple silos if you’re worried about getting through winter. Feed animals hay for a few days while waiting for grass to spread (or else they’ll peck/graze it all away). Spread out each starter on empty patches. Right now Ive got one full silo, and the chest where I store my animal products is holding another 2500. Collect fiber and save it to make grass starter. Winter verschwindet, ist es ratsam, bis zum 28. I can confirm that 5 silos full at the end of Fall will guarantee you make it through the Winter without having to buy hay. Once Winter hits, shove enough hay in to fill up your silo(s) to have easy access when feeding the animals, stick the rest in a chest, and just top off when you need it. That covers all of winter and some time while your new grass fills in next spring, plus some rainy day food. Also build enough silos to hold 1 hay for each animal for 35 days. I have 2 coops and 2 barns and havent had to buy hay since the first year. My beach farm, I have two barns and 1 coop, all of them full. For now, I guess buy some hay until your grass gets itself going. ![]()
